Late last year my A.nitschei female dropped a single baby. The baby was very healthy and ate a week or so after it was born. I ended up selling him to a friend of mine while he was still completely black.
I went to visit the little fellow the other day after he shed and to my surprise the bottom half of his body closely resembles that of A. rungweensis.
Will this colour change with age or is just a good looker?

Thanks for comments guys. I was very surprised when I saw him. I think the female may be gravid again and I would love to get more than one baby, especially if they look like this. I dont want to jinx it though lol.

Nice Domenic! I bet you are kicking youself for selling that one! I have never raised baby nitschei, so I can't tell you what it will do. You'll just have to make some more to tell for sure. Good luck!

Hi Derek, Its an honor to speak to great Atheris man himself. I wouldn't have been able to breed this species had it not been for an article you wrote a few years ago. Thanks very much. Regards Domenic.

Thank you Domenic for the compliment! But please take all of the credit for yourself since you did all of the hard work. I wish you all the luck in your future breedings.
