As there was some people asking about the installations in which we keeps our snakes, here they are a bit.

As explanations, my facility is kept in a 30m2 room under my house. As security I use a alarm system in concern of fire, bite case, intrusion. My alarm system is bound to a central who works 24/24 - 7/7. If something should happen, they immediately call the police / fire dpt / ambulance, etc.

Hey everybody,

I'm going to move to a little house with a 180x280x200cm shed in the garden. It's made of brick walls and has a usual residence window and door.

BUT: At least one of the walls is moist.

Does anyone has experience how this could influence the climatic conditions inside the snake room? Is there an increased risk of mold for the wooden cages and racks?

I'm going to post pictures when I get the opportunity to do some.

Regards.

Well, sometime it is necessary to work on snakes during night phase because the behaviour of animals demands this. This necessity can give some problem when the animals are venomous snakes because we have not the possibility ...

I wondwer how you guys think about this subject.

I often read on forums the discussions about what the perfect starter venomous snake is.

Allot of people say start of with Aspidelaps or Sistrures, after that small and mildly venomous Crotalus, mayba a Naja pallida and after that the doors are open and people say your capable enough to keep larger hots like bitis, big naja's and maybe mamba's.

As most people know I'm a Elapid freak for me there are Elapids and the rest is gorgous ...

Hello boys

Three months ago I had the order from a good friend with the construction of some new cages. A cage 3.0mx 0.75mx 0.75m with sliding doors that separate the sexes and a cage 1.5 mx 0.75 x 0.75 m. and also an old cage (he buys them from me in the past), Lude to .

He waited for them impatiently, and last week I had the pleasure to bring him his new cages.

He is a great Rattlesnakefan and he holds a large group Crotalus atrox in there.

Here are some pictures for you

I have seen that people here usually have their snakes in more or less naturalistic terraria, including sand for desert or arid taxa like Cerastes, dwarf Bitis, Crotallus and the like. Do you feed your animals on the sand? Is there a danger for gastrointestinal impaction in case the snake ingests substrate? And, what kind of sands do you use?

I love to create my terrariums as naturally as possible, giving a impression of the typical habitat structure to the visitors.

Of course, no plastic but real living plants, and whenever possible, I use original stones from the snakes habitats. (I once was called crazy by some people shipping a hundred kilograms volcanic rocks from Mexico to Europe for some Rattlesnakes).

The ultimate trap/hide box?

Hey, This will be my first post on this forum and whynot talk about a subject I've thought alot about.

I've seen many solutions on trap/hide boxes. And i'm planning to build some new cages this summer and I want the perfect trapbox if such a box exists?

Some of the best solutions I found on this forum

Frank Weinsheimer solution

Peter Pastor solution
