Hello Venomland , Last week I received my L.stenophrys , They are such amazing animals to observe in real life !!

I have a few concerns ...

In Durban it is summer and at day time temperatures are 28 - 31'c night 26 - 28'c , will this be ok

for them for a short period ?

In the day time I have a fan that blows a breeze to keep the enclosure with fresh moving air..

They are both eating well (how often is it good to offer food items ?)

I cannot find any informations on keeping this animals ...

Truly a Lachesis muta

Hi,

can anybody tell if the pictured specimen is truly a Lachesis muta? Looks like a preparation, so eyecolor must not be the real one.

http://www.bio.davidson.edu/people/kabernd/seminar/2001/Home/anm/bushm4.jpg

If I take a look at the distance from the pits to the eyes, the squamation especially the eyeshield, and generally the shape of the head it does not look like a Lachesis muta for me.

Maybe someone can give a hint.

MfG,

I finally managed to get some pics of the Lachesis. Unfortunately they're not very good photographs, as my Fiance didn't want to get too close, and the lighting was not good.
