In fact it was the first time the male saw the female, but he needed only five minutes to becoming active. Smart guy! Both animals are 3 years old by now and approximately 55-60cm long. Atropoides occiduus is by far the smallest member of the genus Atropoides. Adults rarely grow to more than 65cm. They show a clear sexual dimorphism, the males are much slimmer compared ... They were very young, not even three years of age. I had been keeping them together, thinking they were two small to breed. I may try again next Spring and see if I have better ...
