My first post in this section... Thought I'd share an image of a super nice snake.

Most well represented non-venomous snake in my collection, and one I've long had a passion for, is C. hortulanus.

I have some 50/50 projects with my best friend, and from such we got 2 litters last year.

This awesome little gem was born in one of those, hope you enjoy...

Myanmar habitat photos ...

I have a request for anyone who has done any field work in Myanmar. I am currently setting up a large indoor enclosure for my Manouria emys, and would like to make it as natural appearing as possible in an indoor setting. The tortoises go outside in the summertime, but I would like to make their indoor, winter quarters a bit of a showpiece if possible.

I would certainly appreciate any photos anyone has of their natural habitat.

Thank you in advance.

My Lampropeltis zonata pulchra are extremly calm snakes. I won't try but I think nobody could make them angry enough to bite.

But when I feed them (living speckies) - they love alive food much more than warmed frozen mice - everything changes.

I feed them separated, the male is transferred into a small feeding terrarium. He does not seem to be disturbed by that. After the prey was swallowed I usually give him a couple of minutes until I take him back into the big terrarium. When I take him ...

Juvenile Heloderma are very difficult to sex accurately. No one, including me, can reliably sex an immature animal. Juvenile Heloderma can be sexed by a veterinarian using endoscopy; HOWEVER, the veterinarian must know the difference between ovaries and testes, which most veterinarians ...

My question:

Is this just a playing of juveniles or are Lampropeltis with an age of a bit more than a year already mature?

Surely another stupid question from me but You all are now quite familiar with ...
