THE SLOWINSKI AWARD PANEL FOR 2010
The Board of Directors of The Center for North American Herpetology is pleased to
announce the panel of three distinguished herpetologists who will select the 2010
recipient of
THE JOSEPH B. SLOWINSKI AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN SNAKE SYSTEMATICS
Dr. Christopher L. Parkinson (committee chair, University of Central Florida, Orlando) and
Dr. Hussam Zaher (Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brasil) have
consented to continue to serve and choose the seventh recipient of The Slowinski Award,
based on research published worldwide during calendar 2009. They will be joined in 2010
by Dr. Wolfgang Wüster (University of Wales, Bangor), who will assume a place on the
three-person committee by replacing Dr. Simon Creer (also University of Wales, Bangor),
who has served with distinction over the last three years. CNAH extends its sincere thanks
to Si for his unflagging assistance in selecting the recent recipients of this excellent
award.
The award, $500.00 and a stylish memento, is made by CNAH each September.

I am well equipped to defend myself, but content to pass through life unnoticed. I mean no harm to anything or anyone that our creator has not provided as my bill of fare; I am self sustaining and I like it that way, please pass me by." - W.E. Haast
