| Hi all, I have a male Chinese banded king cobra, any tips on getting it feeding properly. Sometimes he eats frozen thawed snakes but not always. Otherwise I just forcefeed him pinks. How many pinks should I feed at a time? JUst a general husbandry question, whats the recommended temperature and humidity? Thanks in advance, Rowan The king |

| There are so many ways to try to get it feeding that you would just wear your self out. None can be said to be 100% effective, but in any instance I would say do whatever it takes. Whatever local feeder snakes are readily avalible keep on hand, and try scenting rodents and hope you find what works for you. Best of luck! Beautiful baby boy! |

| Well luckily he's eating frozen thawed snakes now but I don't always have available, this last week he ate a red sided garter snake and a horned adder. So luckily he is eating. |

| Try putting a pink in a piece of shed skin. Should do the trick. |

| Rowan,
Do you know of any more available Chinese banded kings? I've been after them for years with no luck! Please let me know!
Thanks,
John |

| How is it going with the baby King? What did you end up trying and what worked?
Cheers. |

| Wash the pinks under running water to wash/rinse off as much scent as possible and then cover the head with a hatchling corn/rat snake body segment and leave outside the kings hide, continue doing this for a few feeds while lessening the corn/rat snake segment sizes to just a scented pink, try over a period of 3-5 attempts to using just a lightly scented pinky. Just leave the prey items in front of the hide, remove if not eaten. That could be something to try. |
