PostSubject: Telescopus egg extraction - North Zululand - South Africa.   Mon 16 Nov - 1:31

This weekend we found a very large female African Tiger Snake that had just been hit by a vehicle. She was alive when we got to her
but had died by morning. We discovered she was carrying eggs and decided to remove them.
We removed 18 eggs which appear to be in good condition and they are now incubating , It would be a fantastic story should we be able
to save the life of the 18 Juveniles.

We measured this specimen at 98cm.

Extracting the eggs.

18 eggs.

An interesting photo-essay, Mr. Hacket. Thank you for posting this. It's unfortunate that this example was killed; however, it could make for a fine preserved specimen, with locale data. Good luck with the incubation. If you can, please keep us updated on this project. Sincerely, Jon Davidson .

Thats nice! Good job & well done!
I did the same some years ago with an Kng Kobra that we found on the road, but unfortunly the eggs donīt hatched! Maby it wasnīt the time for them. So, finger crossing for yours!

Peter

PS.: Iīve never seen offsprings of this Tiger Snakes, only adults. Hope to see them from you!
