PostSubject: More pics from my Vivarium   Mon 23 Nov - 0:00

Hello Guys
As i have seen Frank Weinsheimers very beautifull cages and animals i was happy. I love to see other guys keep snakes this way too. So i also got lust to show something from me.
Today I had time /and my girlfriends camera too;-)/ to do more pictures of my enclousers and their residents

On top we see the Naja naja cage. Size: 3m x 1m x 1m. The most of my cages have sliding doors and hideboxes, so i can separate the gender if i want to. I think this works very fine for me, and i dont have any stress at the feeding time and its a very safe way to work with venomous snakes.

Here we see the left part with the hidebox and the female

heres the right side with the beautiful male

under the cobras, the Tanzanian puff adders have their home
The Size 1.7m x 1mx 070m

left side with the female

the right side with the brigth male

and the cage of the old Crotalus enyo enyo. i have him over 15 years ago - size 0,7m x 0.7m x 0,7m

at the other side we see the deathadder tower-i keep A.rugosus and A. antarcticus in there

A.rugosus cage - size 0,75m x 0,6m x 0.6m

and the Acanthophis rugosus as himself

and a Acanthophis antarcticus male

Finally for today one of the A.hawkei cage - size 1,40m x 0.4m x 0.4m

The spectacular male

And his female

Hope you enjoy the pictures
until then
Christoph

HI!

Wouldn´t you come to germany to design my cages, too? Laughing

Excellent enclosures...
Is it Fargesia (Bamboo) in the Naja cage?

Regards,
Rene

Hey Christoph,

I can just send the compliments back to you, these are very nice cages and animals! I definitely have to visit you some time...
By the way, are you sure, that your Acanthophic antarcticus is the right species? I know these animals as well, as I had some of these "Acanthophis antarcticus" in the past. They are dwarfs compared to real Acanthophis antarcticus and they look more like A. hawkei (if A. hawkei is currently valid) or brown forms of Acanthophis laevis.

Best regards

Frank

Frank,
From the information that I have gathered and what I understand of it, The Smooth-Scaled Death Adder (A. laevis) is found in Papua New Guinea/Indonesia whereas the Barkly Tableland Death Adder (A. hawkei) is found in the Barkly Tableland in South Western Queensland, Australia. The Barkly Tableland is a rural area in Queensland where they herd cattle for export. There is a place called the Barkly Tableland Heritage Center in the northwestern part of the Barkly Tableland in an area of Queensland called Camooweal, Australia. There is a really nice form of Mulga Snake that comes from Camooweal. It has a beautiful cream color to it!
Sincerely,
Drew
