Hmmm... Interesting; and oustanding photographs, as well, Mr. Hacket. Can you tell us anything more about these specimens? (Hopefully this link is not too far off topic: http://scienceblogs.com/tetrapodzoology/2008/05/scolecophidians_invade.php ) Sincerely, Jon Davidson .

Amazing. Could it be a Leptotyphlops?. You have several species near Durban. Very nice.

Regards

Those eggs are amazing. I have to ask what will their first meal be?

Best of luck. Owen.

Nice link Jon , I think it's Leptotyphlops sylvicolus , I'm going to try it on rat pups and see what happens Smile No really ! I have released the babies where the mother was found .. In my Garden that is. I was told they eat Ant Larvae.

That's good to hear( Still, I can't help but wonder whether or not it might be possible to keep some live specimens of the little beasts in captivity); and Thank you for another interesting Thread and photo-essay, Mr. Hacket. I like the sense of context, clarity and scale in your photography. Would it be possible for you to post any more photographs of the snakes or provide any additional information on the terrain and natural setting of where you found the female and eggs? Just wondering... Sincerely, Jon Davidson .
