This one was taken with a Canon 5DII and a Sigma 150/2.8 Macro with an additional extension tube 18mm.
Two studio flashes were used.

The squam is rather small, maybe 25cm long so the macro equipment was necessary.

Very nice. The detail in the eye is wonderful. Did you also use two studio lights with this one? I have finally purchased my first slave flash, but I have yet to have time to play with it. Hopefully, it will help my lighting situation once I figure it out.

I hate hate hate ... realising that I never can take pics like these ... they are so ... I bought just PSP photo X2 and have to learn how to use it ... amz pics again mr Leitenbauer.

Wow, another very nice macro, Guenter! So, I can also add an extension tube to my Sigma 105mm macro and it will remain sharp? Any recommendations since I know nothing about them?

Sure - it will remain sharp as long as You stay near. It won't be sharp for larger distances then (above 1-3m or so - depends on the length of the tube).

A question to our systematicus:
No real information about the venom seems to be available, or the informations given differ a lot. What is the truth about the venom of this species? Is it really stronger as the venom of other atheris species? Why is no antivenom available - many snakekeepers seam to have atheris.
