| Yesterday in the morning, if I got into our Snake-exhibit, i saw our Lycodon capucinus laid eggs. She laid all in all only 2 eggs. But she is a young lady, who knows what´s gonna happen next time? thats the first time we have had eggs for this particular small species. we have seen lots of babies of them, but never hatched them before on our own. Here you got a picture of the eggs. Hopefully the babies are not that small. so we won't have so much problem feeding them! Greetz Ben

| Hi ben.. nice snakes your small punks! might be nice food for King Cobra babies??? cheers Mario _________________ Attitude, rather than disposition is more definitive of serpent behavior. | Benny, Why the hell didn't we check that L. capucinus female when we caught it under my bed??? (my wife was jumping all over the house, freaking out!) I never thought it was gravid. But anyway, glad those 3 eggs are now being incubated artificially... in humus, of course. And don't you worry about how to get food items for the hatchlings. I've reared wolf snake babies before with small crickets. We'll try it again this time. Here's another interesting species of wolf snake endemic to Luzon, Philippines. It's called Müller's wolf snake ( Lycodon mülleri ) ... arboreal and uncommon in its range. Here's a pic to share: |

| Congrats Benjamin.
What do you feed them?
I got hold of a few Lycodon effraenis last year (WC of course), but they refused to feed on anything (tried mice, house gekkos and small snakes) and after only two months they died. |

| Hey Jakob,
normally we feed our Lycodons house gekkos. if they do not like to any gekkos then we try to feed them small crickets.
