| Everybody know´s the hybrid between Bitis gabonica x Bitis nasicornis or Bitis gabonica x Bitis arietans. But does anyone know something about a hybrid between Bitis arietans x Bitis nasicornis. Or even such heard something about a copulation between this ones. |

| Hi Carsten!
I have never heard of any Bitia arietans X Bitis nasicornis hybrids. I spoke with Steven Spawls about that, he told me he had never seen one as well. But he told me about an Bitis arietans x Bitis parviocula hybrid he saw in Ethiopia a couple of years ago. If any Bitis arietans X Bitis nasicornis hybrids exist in the wild, they should be very rare, as normally Bitis arietans and Bitis nasicornis don´t occupy the same habit. Myself I keep one Bitis arietans x Bitis gabonica hybrid-male. He is a wild caught from Arusha (Tanzania). I good him as a juvenile last year. He is totally evil, puffing like hell if he notices someone, feeds well and grows fast. At the moment he is around 60 cm. I don´t have any photos of him at the moment, but will make some the next days and put them in here. Except for Bitis arietans x Bitis nasicornis hybrids, I have never heard of Bitis arietans x Bitis rhinoceros hybrids as well. But both should look totally strange. I know there are a lot of people who don´t like any hybrid, but let´s face it. Some of them do exist in the wild as well (my one is the best proof), and the artificial ones will never see any nature. The most of us keep animals only for fun and you can say what you want, these hybrids often combine only the pretty parts of their parents. I will put some photos of my Bitis hybrid in here, after that you will share my opinion.
Best wishes
Frank |

| The Nashpuff is still doing fine. The colouration of her is getting nicer and nicer. I´m really curious how she will look like as an adult. In the next time I will post some new pictures.
As far as I know this is further the only example/hybrid worldwide. |

| Here are some updated infos about the Nashpuff. She is still growing and gets more and more nasty. Now she is 1 ½ years old and you can see in which direction she develops...clearly a arietans. By this time she is ~70cm long and is still doing fine. She gets more and more strong colored. Let´s see how she will look like when she is old. In the moment that I open the terrarium or stand directly in front of the cage she hiss like a arietans and then bend the head and neck in the arietans typical L-Form. As yet I never could notice the nasicornis typical head jiggle. After the time the keeping parameters are easy to define. At day the temperatures are round about 26-32 degree…at night ~23 degree. The favoured temp is ca. 28 degree. Indeed she bask sometimes under the spotlight (>32 degree). The humidity is round about 50%. So the snake doesn´t drink from her water pot I “soak” her every day in the evening. Feeding her is no problem at all. She eats and gets all 2-3 weeks an adult mice. Here are some actual pics of here. I hope you enjoy it. http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/81/796081/6539633135633765.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/81/796081/1280_3132303465643735.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/81/796081/1280_3333623964653138.jpg |

| Hi Joni,
yes I know the pictures from there. I´ve post them there in the last year. At the moment I think this is the only existing Hybrid of arietans x nasicornis. |
