Wow They almost look like bronzed statues! I have only ever seen silvery ones though, do they have different natural color phases? Or perhaps change with age?

Hello Jan-Alfred,

you got a beautiful pair. They´ll probably change color and get more beautiful, keep us updated please.

Jessica,

Vipera ammodytes can be much more than "only" silvery. If you look at the threads about this species in this forum, especially the ones about V.a.amm. from Montenegro / Lake Skutari, you can see some in almost any color.

Regards,
Rainer
