Hi Agust
What a stunning snake. I cant explain how much I enjoy this species! I wish you the greatest success with these magnificent creatures!

Hi Jorg
“how is the karater of this animals you here different things about viridis.”
In my limited experience with D. viridis I have found that they are more excitable than D. angusticeps but still far easier to work with than D. polylepis. The D. viridis spread a narrow hood and will strike out if they feel threatened they sometimes also gape their mouths and slowly flick their tongues like their black cousins. In my experience if I had to rate the genus according to difficulty using temperament as my rating factor my list would go something like this.
D angusticeps - easiest
D viridis
D jamesoni kiamosae (never worked with jamesoni jamesoni so not sure about these)
D polylepis – Most difficult
Hope that helps.

PostSubject: Re: Dendroaspis viridis   Mon 6 Sep - 21:04

My experiences with D.Viridis is that they are calm most of the time but when they get agitated they are hellfire Laughing
But that may have something to do with the size of my female since she,s around 220-230 cm long and still growing quite well Smile
I have had some experience with D. angusticeps but not with very large individuals, and they are almost always very nervous and runny althought that too might have to do with their size.
