Hi guys,

I own 3 Atheris chlorechis CB08 (I think march), two of them are surely females but the third animal drives me crazy, it was always the smallest one although it ate the same. And this is one of the point which makes me unsure, it ate an eats the same...maybe the reason is the pre-adult age, don't know.
Further on this animal has a smaller head but for me to little to be sure that its a male.
Maybe some of you, experienced guys, can help me.

to determinate the sex, we need a ,,Tail picture´´! Best from above! Or put it in a smal Plastic Box and make the picture from the undersite.... Only Head shots are not enought.

But, when the are 2 years old, you must see a typical Viper shaped Hemipenis section...
In my A. chlorechis I have seen it the was one very smal WC ones ( 30 -35 cm).

You don't have a set of sexing probes?

The head looks female to me, but that's just a guess. Peter is right and you should easily be able to externally see the hemipenes on an animal of this age. Just hold the tip of the tail up with a hook and let the body dangle and look for the bulge. Tail length is much less reliable at this age.
