AZA AMPHIBIANS IN APRIL

The AZA Amphibian Biology Conservation and Management Course still has openings for the April class at the Toledo Zoo. The dates are 26 April to 2 May. Amphibian conservation workers are encouraged to attend. For more information, go to:

Description
This course builds capacity in amphibian husbandry, amphibian welfare, amphibian medicine, and in-situ and ex-situ amphibian conservation. Students acquire significant knowledge and skills in basic amphibian biology, captive care requisites, medical issues, breeding protocols, management of ex situ populations, in situ conservation strategies, and more.

Course Tuition
$850 for AZA Individual Members
$950 for Non-members

Target Audience
Animal division middle managers, zookeepers, government officials, representatives of nature centers, amphibian conservationists, amphibian students, and natural history museums staff.

Amphibian Overview; Evolution; Classification and Diversity; Anatomy and Physiology; Husbandry; Utilizing Science in Husbandry; Water Quality; Enclosure Workshop; Life Cycle; Reproduction; Records and ID Systems; Nutrition; Medical Overview; Transport; Conservation Education.
