| Good post Owen,
Nothing wrong with a little lively debate. Though politics and religion are usually never good subjects to talk about except with like-minded people.
I'm not sure about BBC that you speak of, but from what I saw on tv in Thailand in 2008, they were firmly behind Obama and never said a bad thing about him, and there was plenty to be said. News organizations are supposed to me non-partisan, but things have changed.
Bill O'Reilly constantly asks people to provide proof of lies, and no one ever can. He has been wrong in the past, and the next day he apologizes and corrects his statements, but most times, people take what he says out of context and then Bill plays the entire sound bite and you can see what was really said.
As far as Bill O'Reilly shouting down people. When you are ask a specific question, and you start talking about something that has nothing to do with the subject, then he must stop them. There is only so much time for the show. Why can't people just answer a simple question? It is because if they answer, they will prove his point, or the other persons point, and the left can't have that.
Anything can be taken out of context and made to look like the opposite of what was actually said. It happens all the time.
You have not upset me. I love talking about this, because I know most people that think Fox News is right-wing have never watched Fox News for any length of time. Many Dems in America will state that Fox News lies, but when asked for an example, they say they do not watch Fox News, so they can not give an example. So, how do they know? They are actually getting their info from far-left news sources, that do not tell the truth or they take things out of context, like the lawmakers that constantly try to stop us from keeping these awesome snakes. They lie and take things out of context, yes?
One episode of anything is not enough to make a fact-based decision. Like I said, I watched CNN for a long time. I watched CNN's reporting during George W. Bush's first Presidential win. I watched CNN's coverage of 9/11 as it was happening. It wasn't until a friend told me about Fox in 2002 that I started watching Fox regularly and then I saw how much I was missing. I had thought CNN was the most fair news channel, and it was until Fox started.
But if someone is liberal/Democrat, or just more left leaning, they will probably not want to be open minded enough to give Fox a chance. Many people have, and that is why Fox is watched by more people than all others, sometimes, as in the case of Bill O'Reilly, it is watched by more than all other shows combined.
One thing I have noticed in this thread. No one has been able to show that any of the facts I have stated are lies. Everything I have stated is the truth. Check it out if you really care about the truth.
People think Republicans/Right/Conservatives are bad and Democrates/Left/Liberals are good. In America, what party freed the slaves? Answer: The Republicans voted to free them and President Lincoln, a Whig/Republican, signed the bill. What party gave women equal rights and the right to vote? Answer: Republicans. The Democrats voted to keep blacks as slaves and to deny women the right to vote. Check your history. Now most blacks and women vote for Democrats. The people that tried to keep them down. But lately the Republican has ran many minorities and they are winning.
The Tea Party? Most Democrats try to say that the Tea party is racist. Just because you hate Obamas policies, doesn't make you a racist. And remember, Obama is as much white as he is black. There has been NO proof whatseever, that the Tea Party is Racist. The Tea party backed many black and other minority candidates in the last election, and most of them won.
Closed minds are what is hurting this world more than anything. Whether it is about left vs right, religion vs religion, nationality vs nationality, whatever. If everyone would keep and open mind and be honest, this world would be a much much better place.
I have to agree with you Peeter. Reagan was the best President, along with Washington and Lincoln, and the American people voted that way in poll a year or two ago. We need another President like Reagan.
And no, as of a few minutes ago they have not found the Cobra, but someone is tweeting, pretending to be the Cobra, talking about going to coffee shops and stuff in New York. Quite amusing.

| Hi Randy. Sorry about my late reply. I have not been on here! Glad your wern't bothered by my last post. I read it back and realised it came across as quite aggressive & rude, it's hard to express myself sometimes on forums without coming across like this! When it comes to proving wrong things you have said about American politics... I have a hard enough time keeping up-to-date with goings on in our own country. I try and keep a reasonable tab of what's going on with the rest of the planet but American politics is mostly a no go for me. Can get very confusuing, especially your elections! So I going to have to plead the Fifth on this one. I don't feel comfotable saying much more on the subject as I am not fully informed. Melt huh? I just keep an eye out on whats roughly going on and watch the satirical programmes that take the micky out of both sides. I have not read much critism of the tea party because of racism... more things like this. (I will point it out before you do, the man who wrote it is an environmentalist that is against big business having more power) http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2010/oct/25/tea-party-koch-brothers I have stopped watching television for my news in the past year. I am sure if I lived near a cliff I would have jumped after watching BBC News 24 for any period of time... you know the saying 'no news is good news.' Well these channels certainly do. |

| I usually watch Fox news, as I get National and International news. I do not pay too much attention to local news. I do not understand elections in many Countries myself, but I try to learn. Basically, I think we can agree that most politicians suck, haha. But every once in a while you egt a few that really seem to care, like our Marco Rubio here in Florida.
The Democrats in America hate the Tea Party, becuase it is a grass roots group of people from many different backgrounds, all coming together to tell our Government that they are spending too much money, and making too many laws, so that Government is getting to big and is intruding in every aspect of our lives.
The Boston Tea Party in 1773, is where they get the name.
haha I understand the cliff jumping. I feel that way myself sometimes about our Government. |

| Calling the tea party something like a "protest party" ("group of people from many different backgrounds, all coming together to tell our Government that they are spending too much money, and making too many laws") is way to simple for me. They are quasi-religous-right-wingers. They want to discard education of evolution theory in schools as an example. They plea for a powerful US that should not care about other countries, if You read between the lines. Sorry to be that harsh, but there are many parallels to the German Nazis from 1932 for me. Not my world. |

| Oh my God, Guenter. The Nazi's? Really? There are Jews, Blacks, and Hispanics, as well as white people in the Tea Party.
As far as the evolution theory goes, the left wants ONLY the Theory of Evolution to be taught, and that is just wrong, when you consider that the vast majority of the worlds population believes in a supreme being. Evolution can not be proven any more than the existance of God.
More than anything, the Tea Party wants America to be like it was intended to be, and like it was until recently, when Government started getting too big, and jobs went away. Yes, most of the Tea party people believe in a God, as do most of the world. If they are right-wing because they believe the Government should be financially responsibile, then yes, they are right-wing. If they are right-wing because they want people to be free, and not be taxed to death, then yes, they are right-wing.
Who wants to pay higher taxes so politicians can piss the money away, and raise your taxes again? Who doesn't want to be free to go to school and learn, and make something of yourself, and be able to start your own business and prosper?
The Tea Party is about freedom and fairness. Not about Nazism. The Obama Administration is more like the Nazi's if you have to use that comparison. Taking away freedoms, bigger Government telling you what to do. But Obama is NOT a Nazi, he just has ideas that one can argue are on the Socialist side, and not good for a free society.
