| That is for me the best black mamba shot I have seen , If possible maybe you can send me the full resolution so I can print this , frame it and put it up on my wall. Also for some reason it is reminding me of the great white shark. |

| Guenter, I've been quietly admiring your photos for some time now and not commented. But, you have outdone yourself on that second open mouth mamba shot. What a great photo of a truly impressive snake. |

| Thanks a lot to You all. To give a view behind the scenes of this take:
It was crisp in the original only at the very top of the nose. So I had to take another mambashot from a similar angle to get a crisp eye and another one to get the scales around. Every scale was the overworked and sharpened at the edges. Of course brightness, contrast and colours of the shots hat to be fitted together too.
The eye and the scales needed some resizing, rotation and reshaping too, as the shots were not taken from exactly the same angle.
After this the rest was easy: just levels and curves and a bit desaturated.
Overall time about 2 hours for this one. That is much, even for me.
BTW: Why can't the fangs not be seen here? Are it hidden behind the white mucosa? |

| I am sorry if I am hi-jacking the thread, but I just want to show you a fairly good picture within the "Mouth open" theme.. I haven´t done anything with the picture other then correcting a little in the brightness / light. |
