Sad news, Bill Haast passed away in wednesday 15. june 2011 pale

I don't know if this was already known here or not, but I decided to share this bad news with you guys.

He was 100 years old and survived many snake bites in his long life

he was a Great man who lived to a great age, had a great Life and did great things for herpetoculture not sure if that's sad news or not, most of us will not be so fortunate.

I say this with deep respect for the man I only knew in the black and white pictures of those terrible old reptile books I grew up with that fuelled my imagination and interest in reptiles.

Very sad news.

Learning about Bill Haast as a child was one of the first and most important reasons why I am involved with venomous snakes today.

He will be missed.
