Woohoo! After 91 days ( Shocked ) the Coastal Taipans are ready to come out. The first just pipped. The eggs are enormous, bigger than chickeneggs.
A quick pic;

Woohoo!

These animals are also bred by Smarley and me. Cheers mate! Wink

On to the next eggs!

Cheers, Ro.

Small clutch, was her first. I had 7 eggs and 2 went bad within 2 weeks.

Thanks Sascha. Yeah 91 days... The first 60 days were incubated at 28.5c as highest temp. I found that out using another thermometer cause it was taking so long. After that I put them around 29c. I would incubate them next year between 29c and 30c I think. I've read some stories that said they could handle even 32 degrees. I wouldn't try that of course but I believe that they could easily handle 31c all the way.

But I don't mind waiting a little longer and I don't want to put every clutch I get from different snakes in different incubators.
As long as they (finally) hatch I'm happy. clown

Cheers, Ro.

@Jan; First shed was yesterday and I was feeding youngsters so I thought I might as well try a dead pink allready, no interest yet. I'm sure they will develope a great appetite though as they have a lot of growing to do. Very Happy
