If you are interested in Lachesis muta rhombeatus, go to http://www.lachesisbrasil.com.br/downloads_nsg_en.html# and watch the first two videos. The first video gives viewers an in-depth look at Dr. Rodrigo Souza's project in Brazil with the Atlantic Rainforest Bushmaster. You will get a very good understanding of how he keeps his bushmasters in captivity and what he does to reproduce them. With any luck, maybe we will see this incredible species in the United States in the years to come!

This appears to be a worthwhile site. Always good to see high quality- and gratis PDF- essays readily available. Thank you for posting the link, Mr. Edwards. Sincerely, Jon Davidson .

There are also a lot of really good pictures on that website in the photo gallery section. I wonder what the current status is of his breeding project is. In his article, he says that there is no true breeding season for Lachesis muta rhombeatus so he could be hatching babies at any time. That's exciting if you ask me. He says that whenever there is a cold spell in the Atlantic Rainforest, they are likely to breed. It says somewhere in there that there is a certain time of the year where their eggs are not likely to survive and hatch due to flooding during the rainy season. I can't remember what months the rainy season is in the Atlantic Rainforest.
