| Parents are wild catches from the Nakhon Sawan Province in Central Thailand. The snakes are in my possession are January 2010. In April 2011 she mated, and in June the female lay 16 good eggs and all hatched after 55 days. | I think your guess at incubation temp is pretty close Ro. I hatched them out at 30c in 56 and 58 days in the past, so I think 30c or very slightly higher is correct.
I am wondering where Karl incubated them. I was at his place in May 2010, and he took me and my girl to his new place that he was building, awesome new place. His snakes were outside, at the old place, but under a huge covered area attached to his home, that was full of plants, and looked like a tropical jungle.
Have you built your snake building at your new place Karl? Is that where your living now. Can't wait to see what you've done to the place. It looked like paradise to me in may 2010. I can't imagine how nice it looks now. |

Yeah that's why I asked. I like to see if I'm right when somebody tells me the incubating time. This one was pretty easy though I think. It would really suck now if I'm not right...

| Thanks Ro and Randy! I incubate the eggs in my kitchen because that is the coldest room in my house. I put the eggs into a plastic box with vermiculite and add them to the floor in the kitchen, the temperatures range from 25 to 32.5 Celsius, according to this method I incubate my other snake eggs.
Regards, Karl

| I actually hatch all my eggs at 26.6 - 27.2 C, and they do take longer, but the hatchlings are bigger and seem to start eating better most of the time. Here are some differences in temps with a few species and the incubation duration at that temp.
Naja siamensis 26.6 - 27.2 C they took 66 - 67 days, at 29.4 - 30 C they took 56 - 58 days Naja sumatrana 26.6 - 27.2 C they took 76 - 77 days, at 29.4 - 30 C they took 64 days Naja oxiana 26.6 - 27.2 C they took 64 days, at 27.7 - 28.3 C they took 63 days

I have the same experience with incubating on 28.5c The youngs are bigger and eat well. Smarley and me hatched out 3 species of Naja this year and everything eats allready.
Cheers, Ro. |
