| Hello everyone, my name is Karen. I live in Los Angeles, California and have been interested in reptiles for about 3 decades now. I have friends who keep venomous snakes native to California and after herping with them numerous times and seeing Crotalus Atrox, C. Cerastes, C. Helleri, and C. Lutosus, up close (well, within reason..hehe) I am fascinated and want to learn more, which brings me here. I was informed through a friend that this forum has the most information and knowledgeable people around and certainly look forward to learning from all of you. Someday I hope to share with you my experiences as well. (I have a friend who has agreed to mentor me.)
Currently I keep a small collection of animals such as Thamnophis species, Malaclemys Terrapin, Scaphiophryne Gottlebei, and Theraphosa Apophysis.
Thanks, Karen |

| Welcome, Karen, there are definitely some knowledgeable people on here. I just moved out east from CA last year, but spent my 25 years up north a bit. I've spent quite a bit of time herping in socal though over the past few years. |

| Hello Everyone. Thanks for the warm greetings. I'm certainly overwhelmed by this forum - fantastic reads and excellent photos (amazing set-ups). I am definitely learning a lot of valuable information here which will help immensely when I go field herping.
Chaim, yes - I've had my share of spiders over the past decade and am glad to hear your sister is now keeping them as well! I wish I had a cool younger brother!
Warren, looking forward to our next trip in Nevada! Our last trip to Palm Springs - finding that C. Cerastes eating a kangaroo rat was amazing. I'm glad I was able to get footage, although heavily pixelated. |

did you keep any true spiders? Latrodectus sp. and Cupiennius sp. are realy nice spiders to keep! Yes, my sister is realy happy with the spiders, her 4 young kids love them to
To bad you don't have a younger brother, my sister and I had quite some fun together. |
