| Hello everyone
Since I’m new to this Forum, I’d like to quickly introduce myself.
Born and raised in Switzerland, I’ve spend a few years travelling around the World and working for the Swiss Armed Forces on different Missions on the Balkans (Bosnia and Kosovo). At the moment living and working in Switzerland on a so called “temporarily settled down” basis, before I might take off for another few years abroad.
With an age of five, I’ve been fascinated by a Snake book of F. Kundert, called “Fascination” which I found on the bookshelf of my father. This fascination for Snakes never left me since. Spending a few years of voluntary work at the Reptile Department in the Zoo of Basel / Switzerland during my school time, I’ve learned the handling and keeping of snakes from the scratch. With an age of thirteen I’ve got my first two Snakes (Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae). Short after, my room hosted about 30 Snakes of all different species. Meanwhile I’m keeping Snakes for about nineteen years, in the last few years mainly venomous snakes.
Some of my all time favorites:
Currently in my collection: Bothrops alternatus Bothrops asper Bothrops colombiensis Bothrops diporus Bothrops moojeni Bothriechis schlegelii Atropoides mexicanum Protobothrops mucrosquamatus Cryptelytrops venustus Naja naja Crotalus viridis ssp Boiga dendrophila melanota Boiga cyanea Morelia spilota spilota
Not anymore in my collection: Tropidolaemus wagleri Cryptelytrops insularis Cryptelytrops albolabris Bothrops venezuelensis Porthidium ophriomegas Aspidelaps lubricus infuscatus Pseudoboa unicolor Chrisopelea ornata and a whole bunch of non venomous snakes…… Something to dream of for the future: Lachesis ssp Ophiophagus hannah
Cheers Michael

| Hey Thomas
I had some off springs from my old Bothrops asper couple, as well as from the Atropoides mexicanum trio and the Bothriechis schelgelii. My Bothrops moojeni femal is still too young to breed, but looking forward to breed them as well. Do you have any Bothrops or Protobothrops in your collection?
Cheers Michael |
