Hello herpetologists around the world , after some problems getting registered in this beautiful site , I finally overcame my digital problems , so now it's time to introduce myself . My name is Joost Nieuwenhuizen and I am busy with reptiles now for more then 40 years now . I started with poisenous snakes in 1979 but nowedays my main focuspoint are the Europeaen snakespecies . I did work for 12 years in an animal-wholesale company , in 1987 I was collecting birds , mammals and some reptiles for their export-station in Arusha , Tanzania . For myself , I have been travelling a lot to the Amazonia of Colombia , Venezuela , Ecuador and Peru . Nowadays I am in to work with exotic plants . I am a real taxonomy-freak , and I try to keep my knowledge about Herpetology , Ornithology , Botany and some more diciplines up to date . At home I have some Europeaen vipers and Malpolon monspessulanus . The Malpolon's are so beautiful in their behavior , I enjoy them everyday . I am looking forward exploring Venomland and find some answers to questions wich I have . Also I will try to contribute whatever I can to complete the knowledge and the understanding of poisenous snakes . Best regards , Joost Nieuwenhuizen .
