| Hi there David,
I could give you the advice to take contact with one of the numerous keepers in Switzerland that already bred this specie. There are quite some!
Regards. |

| Does anyone keep squams in groups or just strictly separate? I was planing to house a 2.2 group of 1 year old animals in a 40x40x70 terrarium until they get big enough to move into separate 'breeding' terrariums, but would like some expert opinion on that.
Many thanks, Tomaz |

| I know plenty of people who keep squams paired up all year long and many do not have a problem. My brother used to keep some pairs together habitually; some pairs just seem to get a long well. But almost every year I have a squam bite its mate and sometimes they die or sometimes they get paralyzed. Very rarely does nothing bad happen. So I keep all of mine separated all year long except for during breeding. I've seen cannibalism with juveniles, too. My opinion is to not risk it and don't put the animals under the unneccesary stress of being housed together. |

| I keep 3.2 adults together in well plented terrarium 100x60x60cm all year long and never had any problems. They breed without any difficulties when kept that was, I only have to be careful when it cames to feeding, but since they all eat dead mice from foreceps it is not too big of a problem. |
